Diamond Stud Size Guide
Choose the size you will love wearing. The carat weight in these stud listings is for both earrings together. A 2.00 ct pair has approximately 1.00 ct in each ear.
Compare round diamond sizes
The circles below use one consistent scale to show the relative face-up size of each diamond. They are enlarged illustrations, not actual-size images or an on-ear fit preview. Measurements are approximate diameters from the linked product listings; individual stones can vary.
These measurements describe the diamond only. Prongs, bezels and other setting details can make the finished earring larger. This comparison covers the round martini/basket pairs linked above; other shapes and designs have their own measurements.
How will they look on your ear?
Your earlobe size, piercing position and setting affect the look. For a simple physical reference, draw circles at the listed diameters on paper, check them with a millimeter ruler and cut them out. Hold one beside your earlobe in a mirror. This gives a rough sense of width; it cannot show sparkle, depth, weight or how the earring sits.
For a closer look at a specific piece, ask our team about its measurements and available photos. Include the pair weight, setting and metal you are considering.
Choose the setting and closure too
- Martini or basket: compare the side views as well as the front. Setting shape changes how the diamond sits against your ear.
- Push back: the back slides onto the post.
- Screw back: the back turns onto a threaded post. Post thickness and comfort matter as well as security.
- La Pousette: available on some configurations; check the selected product's options and ask us if you need help with the mechanism.
Carat weight and certification
Carat measures weight, not diameter. Two diamonds of the same weight can have different measurements. Certification applies to individual stones, not the combined pair weight; check the documents stated on each product page.
